A decent contest to commence the day and one where BISHOPS HEIR is fancied to defy a penalty and beat newcomer Checklow and also Hollins. The James Ewart stable is going well and Bishops Heir has been placed well to win two of his four starts so far, including a similar contest over course and distance in November. Heavy ground certainly suits, and while he does have to shoulder extra weight courtesy of that win, he looks progressive and is taken to do so. Checklow is a nice recruit to the jumping ranks, having been rated in the 90s at his best on the Flat for Jeremy Noseda. If he can transfer that speed to hurdling then he will be a big threat, though first time out and on ground that is far from certain to suit he is taken on. Hollins is another penalised participant, having scored in decisive fashion over track and trip in December. He acts on soft, though is unraced on heavy, and there is every reason to believe that he will get involved. Ibrox would be interesting if supported after a quiet debut over timber last month, while the same goes for Wind Shuffle, who won a heavy ground Ayr handicap on the level from a mark of 75. Knock Three Times needs to brush up on his jumping to get involved after a break, and Bishops Heir is preferred.
