SALEROSA may be able to prevail in an open race where McConnell and Highly Regal are amongst those to be taken seriously. Anne Duffield's filly is due to race from 2lbs out of the handicap but she's actually well in figuratively speaking as she will have to race from a 4lb higher mark in future following her narrow defeat at the hands of Miss Glitters. She raced a shade keenly on that occasion but should get a stronger pace here which will help her to settle and her record at the track is hard to fault. McConnell is two from four at the track so has to figure prominently but he failed to run up to form when well held in fifth last time with Hilbre Court in front of him and Swiss Art behind. Highly Regal has enjoyed a good season as his mark of 83 reflects given that he was winning from just 46 in January but there has to be a chance that the handicapper has caught up with him. Mount Hadley wouldn't be without a chance if taking to this surface whilst Avertis ran well three starts ago but has since blotted his copybook. Hurlingham won his maiden here and is on a fair enough mark if he can recapture his form so he's worth a market check but we'll side with the in-form Salerosa.
