With the opposition looking pretty thin on the ground, winning point-to-pointer Farlington is taken to make a successful debut under rules with Joint Authority and Vidi Caesar the obvious dangers. Richard Guest's Vidi Caesar has yet to win a race but has some solid place efforts to his name including in a handicap at Southwell last time. He has to be respected but a bigger threat is likely to come from Len Lungo's Joint Authority who is rated 8lbs superior to the Guest-trained runner. The remainder look a distinctly moderate bunch so this could be there for the taking by Farlington, who represents a stable that has made a fair start to the season and who does not need to be out of the ordinary to take this.
