St Andrews Storm may not be one to trust implicitly but ran creditably in a similar race here over a mile last time to suggest that he is more than capable of taking the honours here, with the main dangers looking to be Desperation and Measured Response. The last mentioned is less exposed than anything else in the field after just two starts but it is worrying that he is already being dropped into this grade. Bath selling handicap winner Ruling Reef faces no easy task at the weights and of more interest may be Zeena, although the form of Marcus Tregoning's horses is of concern. Courageously seems held by the selection on running here last time, while Beautiful Mover has given little sign of encouragement of late. Karl Burke's runners in this grade always warrant respect and Desperation is no exception having run with credit in a similar contest at Yarmouth last time but the vote goes to St Andrews Storm. Richard Hannon's colt has failed to live up to earlier promise but should be good enough to win a race of this nature and is taken to resume winning ways
