Escape Clause lost no caste in defeat behind the useful Minister Of State at Nottingham last time but Sir Michael Stoute's colt can hardly be considered well treated on that evidence and on ground that may be faster than ideal he is probably worth opposing with preference for Ans Bach, who gets the vote ahead of Damika. The selection looks to be going the right way judged by his latest third behind Red Cape at Newmarket and the Michael Jarvis-trained colt looks worth another chance judged by that effort. The Snatcher may do better back over this trip but may also want a softer surface, while Mister Benedictine needs to improve on recent form to trouble the judge. Marcus Tregoning's Mumaathel is lightly raced and open to improvement but looks to have plenty of weight for what he has achieved and of more interest may be Richard Whittaker's Damika, who looks to be going the right way. Ans Bach has plenty in his favour though and he gets the vote.
