Mersey Sound is back to what looks his ideal trip and is taken to regain the winning thread here, with Blazing Bailey likely to give him most to do. the latter put up a vastly improved performance on his first try at this trip when scoring by five lengths at Nottingham last time and even though he now races off an eight pounds higher mark he still has to be feared. Darn Good is very well treated on his best form and hinted at a return last time but is almost certainly better over further, a remark which also applies to Lord Nellsson. So we'll stick with Mersey Sound, who won impressively over this trip at Newmarket on his return to David Elsworth's yard and has run perfectly well on his two subsequent starts when placed over a mile and a half and most recently when second over two miles at Lingfield last time. Back over his winning distance, Mersey Sound could just have a bit too much class for these rivals.
