Not much form to go on in the opener, so a chance is taken that Macvel can put her experience to good use to get the better of Piccelina, Succeed and Burford Lass, who may provide the stiffest test from the rest with experience. Burford Lass ran with promise at Warwick last month and can pick up a small prize somewhere if she continues to progress. She is worth monitoring in the betting today. Succeed ran better than her finishing position would have you believe on her debut and she is also worth bearing in mind if supported. Piccelina was not beaten far in similar company last time and can also play a leading role if she gets the breaks in running. However, an extra furlong may suit her before too long and she may be vulnerable to a speedier type. Which may well prove to be Macvel on this occasion. Strangely for her pedigree, she has been failing to get home over six furlongs in her three starts so far. However, Macvel has shown plenty of dash on each occasion and is well worth a crack at the minimum trip today.
