Verdict

Colonel Bilko gets a tentative vote here. Daybreak Dancer, Guardiaro and Resplendent Nova are others to bear in mind as alternatives. The booking of Johnny Murtagh catches the eye for Resplendent Nova and the partnership should make a bold bid. Terry Mills has his string in good order and a positive move in the betting ring will be dangerous to ignore. Guardiaro has a little to prove after a couple of below par runs of late. However, this is a slightly easier assignment for him and he cannot confidently be ruled out. Still, like Daybreak Dancer, he faces no easy task at the weights and others look better treated at present. Which brings in Colonel Bilko, whose yard have enjoyed an excellent season so far. Rod Millman's charge shaped as if his turn is not too far away with a good effort at Epsom earlier in the month and he rates as good value in a tricky race like this.
