Hewaraat can have the measure of Nan Scurry, with North Shore, Holly Springs and Empire City all worth a second look. The form of Hewaraat's second to Gimasha at Beverley has worked out well, with the latter going on to hump topweight to victory in a Warwick handicap. Barry Hills' charge had been off two months prior to that Beverley effort and there should be enough improvement to come. Nan Scurry was not beaten too far when dropped back to six furlongs at Newcastle, but is certainly not in the same league as the stable's La Chunga, and she will have to step up markedly to beat the selection. North Shore found seven furlongs too much at Salisbury last time and is worth a try back at this trip, while Holly Springs has been placed four times already and is looking a bit exposed. Empire City is related to plenty of winners, and should be found a suitable opportunity, as should Whistle 'n Flute who is sure to have been well galloped at West Ilsley. Hewaraat is a progressive sort though and can pay to follow today.
