Mganga ran his best race for a while last time at Hamilton and is taken to convert a second success at the main expense of Lancaster Lad and Mrs Jefferson. Mick Channon's horses are still running fairly well in general and Mganga, whilst not being a stable star, could be capable of landing this modest prize. He is effective on quick ground and he looks attractively handicapped at present. Pockets will be empty if punters have been taking the advice of Richard Hannon's Follow The Band, and a more obvious threat may be Mrs Jefferson. John Portman's filly was a fair third behind Ogre last time and whilst that was only a claimer, she comes here in good nick. Janet's Delight is consistent if unspectacular, whilst Headache is one to watch on his handicap debut. Turfani wasn't beaten too far on his recent handicap debut and thus he should not be far away today, whlst Lancaster Lad was in good form in selling contests earlier this season but this company probably just stretches him slightly. At a price Duty Doctor needs respect, however it is Mganga who gets the very tentative nod.
