In depth

Verdict

A race that won't be making too many headlines and TINNARINKA is the most token of picks against Uhuru Peak and Mountain Pass. Granted, Richard Hannon's charge has put up a couple of stinkers on soft going but the handicapper has reacted by dropping her down the weights and with the yard in rude health there is every reason to believe that, having had a break, she'll give a good account of herself here. Uhuru Peak is modest but does go for his amateur rider. He seems effective on seemingly any surface these days. Mountain Pass has won previously under the prevailing going. A regular in low-grade claimers, his run at Kempton was respectable enough. Barathea Dreams is capable though a tricky ride for an amateur. Crispian won a maiden for Willie Haggas in February though is unproven on turf. Corlough Mountain has had a depressing season for connections but has at least gone for this rider in the past. Brighton specialist Spent has one of the better riders on board this afternoon so cannot be too readily discounted. Miss Pheobe does have it to do at the weights though Sylvester Kirk's runners have performed much better of late than what they were. The visor is reached for in an attempt to spark life into Dubai Samurai. Moves Goodenough is persisted with in blinkers but has failed to take advantage previously of what could be a helpful handicap mark.
