A moderate start to proceedings but LINBY won well last time and he looks the percentage call; the list of dangers is headed by King Canute and Colleoni. The selection won a selling handicap in decent style last time when he beat Bocciani at Beverely. Bocciani has since been out and finished second in a couple of races so the form looks solid enough and Tor Sturgis's unexposed 3-year-old is probably worth sticking with. King Canute is interesting as he was heavily backed when he chased home Hallings Overture at Great Leighs last time. That was a decent effort and if he sees out this slightly longer trip then he should go close. Colleoni improved for the step up in trip at Newmarket last time when he finished fourth behind Sea Chorus. A reproduction of that effort should see him competitive tonight so he has to be on the shortlist. Havanavich does have winning form at this track so he is another worthy of a mention, but in a race where it is hard to be too confident about anything we will side with Linby as the pick.
