The betting might provide your best clues in the second division of the maiden but, without that, Silk Drum is selected ahead of Calmdownmate and Upper Class. Calmdownmate cost 40,000 guineas as a two-year-old and the son of Danehill Dancer could be interesting on his debut, while Daring Dream ran well from a modest draw on his Beverley debut and has to be considered with that experience under his belt. A 34,000 guineas son of Mujadil, Glenshee was disappointing on his five-fulong debut here but it would be no surprise to see him improve on that given today's trip and conditions. A 42,000 euros son of Intikhab, Silk Drum could be interesting on his debut, and Transcendent is bred to like a bit of ease in the going so might well be able to improve on his debut effort. The well-related Mark Johnston-trained newcomer Upper Class is also another to give some thought to, and Tharaya is open to improvement if she has learned to settle. Of the others, Harlequinn Danseur, a 42,000 euros son of Noverre, and the David Nicholls-trained Our Sunnie, who could improve for his debut run, might go well but for the selection we will stick with Silk Drum.
