      Verdict

Calabaza had two runners rated in the mid 70s behind him when third behind Richard Hannon's Born To Be Bold at Haydock last time and a reproduction of that form may suffice in a race where the main opposition looks likely to come from Golden Asha and Colonial Girl. The last mentioned has failed to progress this term but showed signs of running into form at Catterick last month and has claims on that evidence. Marcus Tregoning's Katheer beat only one home in the Wood Ditton on his debut and is probably better than he showed there but is something of an unknown quantity. Loup Sifflet gave little sign of encouragement on his debut and a bigger threat is likely to come from Golden Asha, who is entitled to strip fitter for her recent reappearance run. Calabaza has an obvious chance though and he gets the vote.
