CARDINAL shaped with promise last time out and in a race of this nature off a mark of 55 he certainly looks worth chancing; the shortlist consists of Minnola and Only A Splash. Ron Harris' son of Pivotal has shaped with some promise on each of his three starts at big prices and it will be interesting to see how he moves in the market today. His draw in two could prove to be a good one and this half-brother to the decent Hunting Tower is only likely to improve with age, and perhaps, even with a drop of rain. Sea Crest is more exposed and Mel Brittain's filly needs to step up on recent performances, although she has run well here before, Style Icon's run behind Bateleur at Bath reads fairly well and she is probably the pick of Rae Guest's pair although Minnola is unexposed and open to improvement, whilst Istiqdaam is one to watch closely in the betting following a quiet run at a big price last time but his debut at Haydock reads well. Blinkers are tried on Dark Velvet as she drops in trip, whilst Lost In Paris has found marginal improvement for the blinkers and should run his race, whilst Only A Splash's recent second to Nufoudh at Musselburgh reads well in the context of this race. Not a final race to dwell on for too long, but our vote is given to Cardinal.
