The return to a mile and a drop in class should see Ilie Nastase more on the ball, however OBSERVATORY STAR has shaped as if a win is around the corner and is taken to see off Salerosa. Tim Easterby is not having a season to remember however his experienced gelding has run with promise on each of his three starts this year. The handicapper hasn't relented but seeing as he was unlucky in running last time out, the feeling is that today could be his day and if his jockey can negate his wide draw then he should run well. Having tried the blinkers at York last time, Gala Casino Star tries a visor today but he has had good opportunities of late and perhaps he is just not well-treated off a mark of 84. Of more interest then may be Toto Skyllachy who ran his best race recently when second to Tanto Faz here in May on good-to-soft ground. Spinning runs big races when well-fancied so watch him closely in the betting, a comment that can also apply to Celtic Step and Salerosa who has been given a bit of a break since her last run. Nuit Sombre is a course and distance winner who should appreciate the return to a longer trip, Nevada Desert is well-treated on old form and would love a deluge of rain, whilst Reel Buddy Star continues to pay with the handicapper for running some good races. Fesko is better than we saw at York last time and must be considered a player if back on song, however it is Observatory Star who can shine the brightest.
