Verdict

Support for Motirani would be of great interest but we'll side with the hat-trick seeking EXPLORATOR ahead of Silly Gilly and Green Community. George Baker's charge landed a real touch when making a successful handicap debut at Lingfield two starts back and, having won there since, is now some 16lbs higher. While he was only workmanlike on Wednesday the suspicion is there's more to come from him and the 5lb claim of Matthew Davies helps ease his welter burden, whilst conditions here are set to be ideal. Silly Gilly has to prove her stamina for this test but was closing at the finish over a stiff mile last time and is surely worth a try at it. Ronnie Barr's charge runs off the same mark as when placed at Pontefract and Dale Swift rides well for his claim, so it's hard to rule out a big run from the mare. Green Community remains a maiden but is unexposed and she's worth another try beyond a mile under the talented Adam Beschizza, although it remains to be seen whether she can reproduce Southwell form on the turf. Motirani has shown little in strong maidens over a mile but as a result has been given a lowly mark of 53; he's bred to be a good deal better and connections have come a long way for this so keep a close eye on the market. This trip is a minimum for It's Josr while Carter looks in the handicapper's grip, Tae Kwon Do should've come on for his return but has to find more and Grey Command is a better horse on the all-weather, so this looks a nice opportunity for Explorator to go in again.
