Verdict
A turnout worthy of the prize and AUSTRALIA DAY can take the scalps of Inventor and Pure Faith. Paul Webber's charge has been kept busy on the flat but one presumes this has been the aim for quite some time. His bid for a similar contest at Kempton did not get further than the first flight but he still looks progressive and should give another good account. Inventor represents a yard that are in good form. He has kept counsel in some solid contests over the last year. Pure Faith looks an embroyonic chaser though Peter Bowen's yard are in serious form. The Welsh trainer is also set to be represented by the lightly raced, Heron Bay. Tiger O'Toole has progressed during the summer while Conquisto has been talked of in high regard by his connections and this should tell them plenty about whether hurdles or chase fences are what he'll be looking forward to over the Autumn. Stage Acclaim probably found 2m3f a little too far so this drop back to 2m1f could be to his advantage. Plenty of cogent chances and Australia Day can make his class count.
