Verdict
This is a tricky opener with preference shown to PINNACLE LAD, who can make his experience tell ahead of some interesting newcomers such as Pepper Lane and Sir Christie. Pepper Lane hails from the David Barron yard and he has enjoyed some success recently with his juveniles. This Exceed and Excel filly is out of a Pivotal mare so any rain should not be a problem. The stable is respected and this looks an open affair so any market confidence should be heeded. The same comment also applies to Sir Christie, who has two full brothers who won as a two-year-old. He also has a sister who won on her juvenile introduction and he is respected though the yard has raced three two-year-olds and none have hit the frame to date. Pinnacle Lad was only quietly fancied on his Bath debut, but ran very well until perhaps tiring in the final stages behind a well backed newcomer who looked very talented. Only three lengths behind the runner-up, that was a very promising effort, and Pinnacle Lad can show the strength of that form here.
