Charlotte Vale can get back to winning ways at the expense of Balwearie, Kiama and Aleron in the finale. With Greg Fairley taking 5lb off her back, Charlotte Vale must have a sound chance of ending an exasperating run of seconditis here. Micky Hammond's five-year-old was kept ticking over successfully during the winter, but since returning to the Flat she has had to settle for the runner's up spot three times in four outings. Ironically it was Greg Fairley who rode Mceldowney to beat her at Catterick last time, so it would be only fitting if he were to put matters right for the selection's connections here. On a line through Mceldowney, Balwearie has a bit to find, but he is better than he showed at Hamilton last time when he failed to quicken with the pace of the race. Kiama is slowly but surely getting there but is best watched again, while Aleron, a tough dual-purpose performer is worth a mention. Charlotte Vale deserves to get her head in front though and can do so here.
