An interesting maiden where COTILLION gets the nod ahead of Laazim and Leulahleulahlay. William Haggas has a good record with his raids at this venue and he can enjoy further success with Cotillion, who is kept to maidens in spite of now being alloted a handicap mark of 82 after three runs in this sphere. He proved at Newmarket last time that he gets this trip well, he acts on good ground or softer and there is definitely some untapped potential to be exploited, which we hope to see today. Laazim is officially rated 3lbs higher than the selection and is stepped up markedly in trip on his first start since joining Mark Johnston from Andre Fabre. Pedigree suggests that he should get home and he too won't mind any softening of the going, so he is much respected. Stablemate Leulahleulahlay tries turf for the first time after a couple of Polytrack runs at Kempton and there is every chance that he too will stay. Slower ground would suit and he is not ruled out. My Chestnut Girl is proving expensive to follow but did go close when stepped up to this trip for the first time at Brighton a month or so ago, though she has it to prove on this ground. Cherish The Moment is well worth a try at this trip and being by Galileo he should act on most ground, though he too has a bit to prove after his most recent Pontefract run. Cotillion is the one for us.
