Moody Tunes heads the weights for this 17 runner lady riders' handicap and has to be respected but may struggle to defy the penalty incurred for his win in a claimer last time and a safer option looks to be SILLY GILLY, who gets the verdict ahead of Uhuru Peak. Mick Easterby's gelding needs to improve on recent form to trouble the judge but the softer ground today may well help and he has the assistance of one of the better jockeys in Serena Brotherton. Rain Stops Play has been running creditably for Nicky Richards of late and should again be thereabouts off his light weight. Tom Tate's Know By Now is less exposed than his rivals after just four starts but he looks plenty high enough in the weights for what he has achieved. Richard Fahey has his string in fine form so Carpe Diem has to be considered but the ground may be too testing for him to take the honours today, while Winrob is likely to find this tougher off his new mark than the selling handicap that he won at Thirsk last time. The vote then goes to Silly Gilly, who comes into this in good form with decent efforts in defeat at Catterick and Beverley in his last two starts and a reproduction of that form should see him tough to beat in this company.
