Verdict
MAD MILLIE put up a good showing over seven furlongs last time and this drop back to six can see her win for the first time, while Makbullet is among the potential dangers. The selection made a pleasing debut at Thirsk before going well for a long way back there last time, despite having no chance with the winner. The switch back in trip looks a shrewd move, she acts on good ground and with a nice pitch from stall two she is taken to score. Makbullet was a beaten favourite but not disgraced on soft ground at Catterick last time and he has to enter calculations with more experience than the rest here, especially over a trip that suits. Lava Lamp is a very nicely bred colt who is related to a winner at this age and over a similar trip and will stay much further than this in time. The yard is going well and in spite of their usual improvement for a first run, they do still find an occasional first-time winner. We'll Deal Again is perhaps another who will be suited by this return to 6f after being well beaten over further last time and money for him would be interesting. Conversely, Cross Key will appreciate the step up in distance and also better ground here, and with the yard going well she could make her presence felt. Al Adham should be much better for an Epsom debut and will find this track easier to handle, so can't be ruled out, but preference is for Mad Millie.
