The speed should come down the nearside here from Mister Laurel and KERRYS REQUIEM, and the latter is given the nod to avenge last week's Newcastle defeat to Richard Fahey's charge. Kerry's Requiem had previously been very unlucky not to score here over course and distance when hampered and no better than third behind Bajan Tryst, and Mick Channon's filly was then beaten four lengths by Mister Laurel at Gosforth Park. She is now 8lbs better off with that rival and we will give her the nod to turn the tables. She acts on good ground and won't mind if it rains. Viking Spirit is well handicapped on old form and will relish further rain should it come, but he was beaten a mile at York last time and you'd be hard pressed to lump on on that evidence. Red Cape would prefer faster ground than this to be at his best, while Atlantic Story is thrown in on the best of his form on artificial surfaces, but is only one from 18 on turf. Tabaret is another about whom there are going concerns unless things dry out and we will give another chance to Kerrys Requiem.
