MISTER PETE is a sporting selection in the finale, to upset recent winners Herrera and Inchpast. The last named cut no ice behind Kayf Tara at York, but won well at Goodwood last week. Shouldering a 6lb penalty here, Inchpast has conditions in his favour here and can go well. Herrera hails from the in form Richard Fahey yard, and he has landed two of his last three starts, the latest a game success at Beverley. That was only a modest affair however, and he is taken on despite being only a pound higher. Mister Pete is a proven stayer and although he is unproven on fast ground, he appreciates a strong pace, as he showed last time to be a sound third in a similar event. The form of his opponents is only average, and running off the same mark here, Mister Pete can spring a surprise.
