Verdict

This is a tricky race to assess, but with the Clive Brittain juveniles going well, a chance is taken that RJEEF can get the better of Nave and Audacity of Hope. Audacity of Hope shaped well in a Newmarket maiden, keeping on well to claim third, and although there was only a small field, it was a promising debut and he can improve. Mark Johnston is having a good campaign with his youngsters, and Nave showed plenty of speed before becoming bogged down in the soft ground at Haydock. He was well supported that day, and on this quicker surface can be a different proposition. Rjeef also ran in that Haydock maiden, and kept on well to be second, albeit at a remote distance behind the winner. Clive Brittain possesses a useful team of two-year-olds, and he can make the long journey from Newmarket pay off with Rjeef.
