Durova can end a frustrating run of placed efforts, with Mandy's Maestro and Convivial Spirit expected to give her most to do. Tim Easterby appears to have found a suitable opportunity for Durova to finally open her account, the daughter of Soviet Star having found one or two too good on each of her last five starts. On breeding it is amazing that that she has not been stepped up another furlong at least, but she does seem a bit keen, so perhaps until she settles, five furlongs is as far as she wants to go. Looking at her past efforts, she just needs a little more restraint, and there should then be enough in reserve for the finish, and in today's company, she should not be overstretched. Mandy's Maestro in contrast has been campaigned over six furlongs on all three starts to date, failing to figure when it matters, and with promising apprentice Michael Stainton once again in the plate, may give the selection most to do here back in trip. Convivial Spirit is still learning, but is worth a mention on his first try on Turf, but really, Durova will not have a better chance of putting matters right.
