          Verdict

          A race where a trip to the car park makes more appeal than a trip to the bookies but Staked A Claim is our tentative recommendation ahead of Give Her A Whirl and Violet's Pride. Staked A Claim has ran one or two respectable races among his six starts thus far and with a solid fourth behind Rothesay Dancer reading particularly well in the context of this race, he gets the tentative vote. Give Her A Whirl has a decent pilot booked and makes more interest now that connections have abandoned the idea of her getting a mile. Violets Pride has a record of 0 from 21. She handles the ground but has questions on the trip. Willie Ever put up two fair performances on the all-weather during the winter so is a player if handling the turf. Jabraan put up a career best at Southwell last time out but that isn't really saying a lot. Orangina has shown some speed at Dundalk but has been well beaten in maidens at this side of ther Irish Sea. Vogarth is likely to appeal to those who plump for top weights in handicaps. A dire race and Staked A Claim is put up as a token selection.
