Evelith Regent may benefit sufficiently from this drop back in trip to land this open heat with Boy Dancer and Brouhaha two others that could get into the shake-up. A few in this line-up are well handicapped on the best of their old form and would have decent claims if able to reproduce it this afternoon. Libre is one despite having gone up by 4lbs for winning at Chepstow, King Of The Moors is now 8lbs lower than when recording the second of his two course victories last year, Lauro is 1lb lower than when winning here last year as well and Old Romney is chucked in on the best of his efforts and showed his first signs of a revival last time and should be suited by the drop in trip. In contrast, Brouhaha is a horse on the up and has been running really well without winning this year; he was due to race on Friday but if running well there and taking his chance would have to be on every short-list. Boy Dancer is another who has been in fair form and can probably be excused a below par run at Pontefract as he never got competitive from a high draw; there should be no such problems this afternoon and he can go well. The case for the selection rests on the suitability of this trip which isn¿t a given for a horse that ran well in bumpers and finished second on debut over a mile and a half. His dam stayed well but there¿s also a bit of speed in his pedigree and the way that he¿s been racing offers hope that the move will be a successful one. He has been taking a strong hold, racing keenly and struggling to get home over middle distances but this trip may just be the making of him if he¿s given his head and allowed to bowl along. Quite a few ifs and buts in making this call then but Evelith Regent it is.
