This division looks to be very competitive and Mohanad couldn¿t be a confident selection but does get the vote with Quatermain and Custard Cream Kid just two of the potential dangers. The selection shaped encouragingly on debut and stepped up on that form at York on his second start; he was a popular choice to make it third time lucky over this trip at Salisbury next time but never looked like winning the race. It may just be that he bumped into two useful individuals that day and he¿s given the chance to confirm the promise of his first two outings although the yard could be in better form. Quatermain made his debut in the Listed Chesham Stakes and struggled to get competitive, the drop into maiden company will suit but it¿s hard to gauge how much ability he possesses on the evidence of his one run. Custard Cream Kid has made the frame on both starts although was fortunate to do so last time; he has looked in need of this seventh furlong and may be able to make the frame again. Dark Moment has shown a similar level of ability in two starts, Mannlichen was behind Tropical Blue at Leicester but should improve as should Shaker Style and Stirling Castle and positives can be taken from both of their runs. To add to that, Heading East is a 130,000 gns purchase who¿s related to winning juveniles and Madamlily also makes some appeal on paper. That all adds up to this being difficult to solve but Mohanad has to enter the equation and may be the answer.
