AUSSIE BLUE is taken to defy a six pound penalty to land this handicap at the expense of Kalasam and King Pin. A good winner over course and distance last time out Aussie Blue is returning quickly with a penalty to carry. He did well that day and connections are keen to get another run into him before the handicapper gets a chance to reassess his rating. With that in mind he could still be potentially well treated and if at his best he ought to go close. Kalasam has been running well in defeat of late. He was not beaten far when finishing third behind Sarwin at Hamilton last time out and he has place claims once again. King Pin is relatively unexposed compared to the majority of his rivals. He has caught the eye on both his last two outings when finishing a close second in each and it will not be long before he breaks his maiden tag so warrants plenty of respect. Aussie Blue could have the edge on the field and is taken to follow up on his recent course and distance victory.
