Arrgatt and Carte Diamond are the pair to concentrate on here, with the vote just going to the experience of Arrgatt to see him home. Michael Jarvis's yard continue in fine form, with Royal Ascot winners this week a measure of what a season he is having. Arrgatt wouldn't be in that sort of class, but has been brought along steadily and put up his best display when a three-quarter length second to Feaat over 10 furlongs here at Redcar last time. This extra furlong will be in his favour, and with fast ground to help his cause he should be good enough to get his nose in front this time. With neither the Tim Easterby-trained King Top, not Mark Brisbourne's Hirayna likely to be spot on first time, the main danger looks to be Carte Diamond. Mark Johnston can certainly have then ready to perform on debut and this beautifully bred Theatrical colt will relish this test of stamina first time up. Presumably the fast ground must not be too much of a worry to connections as they would not risk him on it for his first run, and if there is any money for him then we clearly must take a note. However, if he is ever going to be ring rusty then today would be the day, so we will stick with the experience of Arrgatt to just see him through.
