Verdict

Some moderate performers line up for the concluding event on the card and what can only be a tentative vote goes to recent Carlisle winner Pay Time, who is marginally preferred to Spinning and Petite Mac. The last mentioned ran better at Newcastle last time over six furlongs and should not be inconvenienced by the extra furlong today. He rates a bigger threat than Jim Goldie's Esoterica who could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Aussie Blue has yet to win a race, while Mick Easterby's Uhuru Peak seems to save his best form when Serena Brotherton rides. Sunnyside Tom has struggled all season, while Turn Me On has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for his win at Wolverhampton. David Barron's Spinning has shown a consistent level of form and is entitled to be thereabouts but preference is for Pay Time who is taken to follow up his recent Carlisle success.
