Verdict

Royal Alchemist is taken to come out on top in this Listed affair, with Bahia Breeze and Mamela the others to consider. The race conditions leave a number of these runners with something of a task at the weights. Runner up in the Group Three Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury last season, and second again in a Listed contest at Newmarket later in the season, Royal Alchemist would not be winning out of turn at this level. She has won at Kempton this season and shaped well at Newmarket and The Curragh subsequently. Bahia Breeze is a consistent type who looks sure to be thereabouts. A fast ground winner at Folkestone as a juvenile, she also achieved a Listed success that season. Her efforts this season have been respectable in good company, but there is the suspicion she may just need a longer trip. Mamela is another to note, having only raced once last season, she will strip fitter for her seasonal debut and hails from a yard going well. However, for the selection, we return to Royal Alchemist.
