In depth

Verdict

Briery Lane, Geojimali and Dvinsky are the three for the shortlist here and preference is for Briery lane to follow up a narrow Redcar victory. A winner at Wolverhampton and Carlisle recently, Geojimali has been the epitome of consistency, and his latest effort when staying well to be a close second at Hamilton last time suggests this stiff track should suit. Dvinsky has a poor strike rate with only two wins from forty starts, but he shaped well at Chepstow last time to be narrowly beaten, and that run was on ground similar to this evening's, so a good run can be anticipated despite being raised two pounds. Briery Lane lost his maiden tag at the sixteenth attempt at Redcar last time, putting in a game effort to get up close home. he is four pounds higher here but had also run well to be second under tonight's pilot over this course and distance earlier in the season. Briery Lane can enter the winner's circle again.
