This is a typically wide open sprint handicap to finish with and with little recent solid form to recommend any of the large field, a chance is taken that one of Seven No Trumps, Diamond Katie or Kings College Boy can resume winning ways, with the vote going to top weight Diamond Katie. The Nigel Tinkler trained filly won well on fast ground at Sandown last season and after three runs this season which will have got here race fit, comes here after an encouraging run at Thirsk last time. She has been dropped a pound, and despite top weight is not badly treated having been dropped six pounds since the start of the season. Kings College Boy enjoys a similar profile, having also won on fast ground at Sandown in July, but a winless run has seen him drop nine pounds since the start of the season. He ran well at Haydock last time on testing ground, and back on the faster ground he prefers, Kings College Boy can run well. Seven No Trumps may be a nine year old but he won at this stage last year and has been lowered eighteen pounds since that win. He has run respectably this campaign on fast ground, and after two unpaced efforts on a softer surface recently, it would not be a surprise to see him go close here. Diamond Katie can defy top weight.
