Latanier is a decent type and can see off his rivals Barcadero and Diablo in this small field. Barcadero's Irish form is hard to weigh up, but he has run some solid races in defeat recently, though he was well behind when falling last time. He was well beaten on his previous venture to these shores, though that was over hurdles, and he is opposed. Diablo has been in consistent form this season, but his latest start at Aintree resulted in a moderate display, and he has not won for eighteen months. Latanier has won three of his last five starts and is clearly in good form, despite a recent defeat in a good race. His best efforts have come over shorter trips, but he has a turn of foot, which can prove useful as the ground dries out. Latenier can resume winning ways.
