Verdict

OVERLAW is given the chance to resume his upward curve and is taken to get the better of Topflight Wildbird and Turnworth amongst others. The selection was an early casualty at the course in February when a short-priced favourite but he won his next two starts before finishing a well held third at Hereford from an 18lb higher mark. He's another 7lb higher here so would appear to have his work cut out but his latest defeat was his third run in March and may have been a step too far so he could be worth another chance having been freshened up. Topflight Wildbird has yet to shine over fences in four starts but her most encouraging effort came on her most recent outing which also happened to be her first run since January and debut for the yard. It doesn't take a great deal of imagination to see her featuring. Turnworth and Monty's Moon haven't had many chances and may prove capable of better whilst Khazar has only had a couple of outings for his current yard and is another to note but Overlaw is taken to rule.
