Papradon and Pugnacity are both in decent form but we will take a chance on GRAND ART on his first start for Tim Vaughan. The Welsh trainer tends to improve those he takes on from others and if he can do that with the selection then he should be reasonably successful. Grand Art won twice on the Flat for trainer Mark Tompkins and laterly three times for Paul Midgley. All those successes were on fast ground and given that he stays 1m 4f on the level then this 2m 4f should be ideal over hurdles. With the yard going well then fitness will hopefully not be an issue and he can score. Papradon should also be able to see out the trip. He scored over 2m 3f at Fontwell and acts on fast ground so he is a clear front-runner today. Pugnacity gets every yard as a winner over 2m 6f at Sedgefield in May. The ground is ideal for him but an 8lbs higher mark is not. Middlemarch is not able to produce his best on fast ground and Parisian Knight looks a better prospect, though Grand Art is the one for us.
