Verdict
Hermoso looks set to go well in this stayers' contest, while Maolisa should also be involved but the vote goes to PADDINGTON BOB. Pauline Robson's six-year-old broke his duck when taking a 2m 6f novices' handicap hurdle at Cartmel in May and acts on this faster ground. There is every chance that he will get this slightly longer trip and may not have been in love with the slower Hexham ground last time and we will give him another chance with a nice racing weight to carry. Maolisa keeps on making the frame as she did here in May. She stays well and goes on most ground but she just struggles to find much at the business end and minor money probably awaits. Nigel Twiston-Davies saddles Hermoso, who looks capable of improvement now returned to this distance after a decent pipe-opener at Uttoxeter and he is likely to be heavily involved. Auberge has no weight on her back plus conditions and trip to her liking and has some sort of claim, while Tarkani would be very interesting if backed, though the vote goes to Paddington Bob.
