GULF PRESIDENT looks really well handicapped based on his return to this code last time so is given the vote ahead of Penang Cinta and Norman The Great. The selection was very impressive when winning by eight lengths at Brighton last time off a mark of 60 so if in the same mood again he looks really well treated with just a 6lbs penalty to carry. Penang Cinta seemed to have more to offer based on his own win at Brighton two starts back but was a little disappointing last time. That was a rare bad run and with a good strike rate over this trip he has to be considered. Norman The Great was expected to go better last time but was beaten over 18 lengths by Some Sunny Day. That leaves him with plenty to prove although he is one from one at this track. Gloucester has won his fair share of races on the level and his run behind Strathcal last time is working well so off this revised rating he could feature but after such a dominant display last time Gulf President gets the nod.
Norman The Great 7-2fav (9-1) Held up towards rear, headway over 6f out, chased leaders on outside and edged left 2f out, weakened over 1f out, 8th of 10, 17l behind Some Sunny Day (8-11) at Windsor 1m 4f hcp 0-80 (4) gd in May.

Gloucester 8-1 (9-7) Held up towards rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, 5th of 8, 4 1/2l behind Strathcal (9-7) at Salisbury 1m 4f hcp 0-75 (5) gd in Jun.
