High Reserve narrowly secures the verdict over Caribbean Dancer. James Fanshawe's charge is selected on account of favourable form on soft going. Although backers may have been disappointed with a fifth to Uig last time out; that runner has upheld the form with a solid display at Glorious Goodwood. Caribbean Dancer is certainly progressive enough to win this. Likely to be given the office upfront - it will take a good horse to get past. Parnassian has reason to reverse last year's Salisbury form with our selection. The strong pace may suit but it is questionable as to whether this year's performances have been anywhere near those of last season. Of the remainder, Coppice is the interesting horse. The breeding suggests that he should be capable of handling the prevailing ground conditions but he is up against two progressive types. High Reserve is nominated as our pick in the fifth race.
