Raysoot is out to get the losses back and can do so, with Foley Prince and Captain Marryat just two potential dangers. This is a fairly open handicap but the fact that Newmarket trainer Alec Stewart has hit a bit of form of late augurs well for the chance of Raysoot who was sent off favourite at Wolverhampton 17 days ago on his handicap debut. Unfortunately he met one too good in the other market fancy Incisor who just outlasted him, the pair clear. He was the subject of big whispers that day and now that he is a bit fitter and back on Turf, it is hoped that he will make amends off what still looks a reasonable mark. Foley Prince has posted three good efforts since joining his current yard and his close second at Sandown in a class D handicap gives him a major chance here despite topweight. Captain Marryat shaped well when second at Salisbury on his handicap debut but has more to do here. He could be on the upgrade though and should not be dismissed out of hand. George Margarson is another trainer with his string in fair form and so Bertocelli will be fancied to add to Lilli Marlane's victory in this event last year. However, despite the fact that he will come on for his recent return, the trip is a big worry and a place may be the best that he can hope for. Spring Jim was just behind him at Folkestone and is closely matched on that form, so is another that is hard to fancy. Solo Sole is another that may well leave previous running behind, but in a hard race to call, we return to Raysoot as the answer.
