The betting will provide the clues here with little racecourse form to go on, but Baddam, Hornpipe and Rowan Warning look the ones to concentrate on and the vote is given to Rowan Warning. The selection is a well-bred colt who cost 40,000 gns and is related to Rowan Pursuit, a multiple winner as a 2-year-old. The stable have done well with their 2-year-old runners so far this season and a big run is expected. Baddam hails from the John Dunlop yard and is another well-bred sort. However, this colt is unlikely to be one of the stable's leading lights and he will probably do better over further in time, so he might just find a couple too good on his racecourse bow. Hornpipe swerved left when leaving the stalls and was disappointing on his debut behind Spree. However, he is sure to come on for that run and he should be capable of a much better effort here. Gavioli has had breathing problems but ran a fair race behind Dahteer at Chepstow last time. His yard are in good form so he could be interesting, but he will have to improve on his form so far to trouble the principles. A similar comment would apply to the other runner with racecourse experience, Town End Tom, and we are happy to side with the Willie Haggas newcomer Rowan Warning as our idea of the winner.
