Calamintha gets the vote over Sonoma, Spitting Image and Squirtle Turtle. If Kieren Fallon puts her stamina to good use then Calamintha should be capable of galloping her rivals into the ground. The daughter of Mtoto did just that at Chepstow three weeks ago but in the end was all out to last home over a trip two furlongs longer than today's. Successful twice over hurdles in the past as well, she is a tough sort who looks well up to the task in hand. Sonoma is a regular visitor to Nottingham, having appeared here five times in all, but has yet to make her visits pay. However, she likes to force the pace as well and is not badly treated compared to form of old, so may give the selection most to do. Spitting Image landed a moderate claimer at Redcar last time, while Squirtle Turtle has yet to score over this sort of trip, so Calamintha appears to be one to be on.
