Spinning Crystalhas been catching the eye at home and can pay to support ahead of fellow newcomers Zahour Al Yasmeen, Shreddy Shrimpster and Proud. Those to have raced so far appear nothing special, although Bridge It Jo was sent off favourite at Lingfield before blowing her chance by running much too freely. With a little restraint she can be involved in the finish, but Julia Feilden's filly meets some decent sorts here, the best of whom may well be Spinning Crystal. A daughter of Spinning World, she is related to lots of winners, and the family can be traced back to the brilliant Rose Bowl. She has been ready to run for some time and goes here rather than at Haydock on Saturday. Although she is by a miler, the influence of sprinter Iktamal in her pedigree should help her cause as she starts over the minimum trip. Zahour Al Yasmeen is sure to have been well galloped, and being related to juvenile winner Revenue, she should have enough speed, although basically she is bred to excel over a bit further. Shreddy Shrimpster hails from a stable that definitely knows the time of day with its youngsters, and Proud, although likely to need further, comes from a yard that has had plenty of success already with its team of juveniles. The nicely-bred Spinning Crystal is the pick.
