Verdict

In the opener, Cashel Mead gets the verdict ahead of After The Show and Spirit Of Coniston. Cashel Mead's winning run came to an end over six furlongs at Bath last time. Back at this shorter trip she can go well in a bid to regain the winning thread. After The Show has nudged up the weights for his all-weather win but ran pretty well over course and distance last time and can go well, while Canary Island is lightly raced and has shown a lot of promise but lacks a recent run so watch the betting. Mambazo has to improve again based on the best of his all-weather wins last season, and Summer Recluse has to improve on the best of his winning efforts of the last two years, which have come on Turf, and he might be better over further. Pride Of Joy remains a maiden, while Spirit Of Coniston has been running well of late in headgear and a good run is not ruled out again. Overall, though, the one to beat, for us, is Cashel Mead.
