Ripp Orf is a real credit to connections and was winning for the fourth time this year at Ascot earlier this month. However, he had less than a length to spare over SPANISH CITY and Roger Varian’s charge is 3lb better off so may well turn the tables. Gilgamesh looks held on the form book but Nebo could be interesting making his handicap debut given he was winning in Group 3 company around this time last year. Another three-year-old, Fennaan, also warrants a mention along with last month’s Newbury winner Squats. Last year’s third Ice Lord is only a pound higher but his best form recently has been over 6f.
