Three against the field here are Ten Carat, Argonaut and Sendintank, and we will side with Ten Carat to take this 17 runner handicap. The selection has plenty to do off topweight, but has a fair bit going for him. Amanda Perrett's colt has bags of stamina as a winner over two miles, has course form, and has also won with cut in the ground. To back him you have to ignore a disappointing effort at Goodwood last time, but he can bit a bit in and out and therefore he is capable of coming back and taking this. Argonaut is the Stoute-Fallon representative here and will have his supporters. This trip should be just about the limit of his stamina, but he has performed as if further than a mile-and-a-half will suit and this is his chance to show us, provided he handles the cut. Sendintank will love the ground and won on heavy at Yarmouth the other day. With no doubts about the ground for him either and a feather weight to carry he can go very well for his shrewd connections. Even so, we think that Ten Carat will strike gold.
