Ebn Reem showed promise on his Newcastle debut and, along with Rescue, the Michael Jarvis-trained colt has to be respected but a chance is taken on the newcomer Tariq, who has a decent pedigree and is taken to make a winning debut. The selection is by Kyllachy out of a Selkirk mare and should appreciate any further softening of the ground. Rescue is a son of Red Ransom trained by Mick Channon that has to be considered on his debut, while Marine Parade ran creditably on his Newbury debut and should have learned from that experience. Being by Gone West, Jeremy Noseda's Kalgoorlie may want a faster surface, while Tudor Prince has a bit to find with Marine Parade on Newbury form. Tariq lacks any experience but has a pedigree that suggests this ground should suit and the yard of Peter Chapple-Hyam is more than capable of producing one to win first time out.
